Balbir Thiara

Balbir has worked with Intercultural Association as a Settlement Worker, and in Victoria Immigrant Refugees Center Society as a Settlement Co-ordinator. Balbir also worked in Alberta at Children and Family Services of Alberta as a Child Protection Worker. Balbir was also an owner-operator of a Driving School, where her main purpose was to teach and help women get their driver’s license to help with employment opportunities and gain independence in the new country.

Balbir wants to share her expertise and experience to help further visible minority women in Victoria. Recognizes that there is a dire need for women to have a safe and supportive environment to have a dialogue on issues that affect their lives.
